Oklahoma Cornhusker Club Christmas Party
The 39th Annual OCC Christmas Party was as unique as it was successful!
We had 29 members attend in-person, with two more members attend via Zoom. The North East Kansans for Nebraska also joined us via Zoom.
Our special guest speaker was Associate Athletic Director for Football, former Husker standout Matt Davison!
Matt spoke about his 18 years in the game-day broadcast booth, as well as his time as a player. Matt also talked about the facility upgrades ongoing, and planned, on-campus. The new athletic facility will feature a new weight room that is three times the size of the current weight room! And the facility will be used by all Husker athletes, not just football players!
Matt talked about the new realities of the Transfer Portal and the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rules that allow athletes to earn endorsement payments. The landscape has changed, and the Huskers have positioned themselves to lead the way. Some of the incoming transfers will make an immediate impact!
Matt talked about the recent survey that went out to season ticket holders, donors, and alumni. Among the discussions are creating a better in-stadium experience for fans, including upgraded seating. Future plans may also include significant upgrades to the South Stadium. Matt says he believes the coaching changes and incoming players will allow the Huskers to have a better on-field product and more Ws and Ls.
Thanks again to Matt Davison for joining us via Zoom!
Through the years, the Oklahoma Cornhusker Club's Annual Christmas Party has provided Holiday cheer, comradery, friendship, fabulous door prizes, and some fantastic guest speakers.

The 38th Annual Oklahoma Cornhusker Christmas Party (December 2019) was a huge success! Husker standout WB Clester Johnson spoke about his time at Nebraska, and being recruited as an in-state player, something Johnson says past Husker coaches ignored. Johnson's son Keagan, a wide receiver, was recently offered by Coach Frost and his staff! Johnson related the experience being a parent of a recruit and how open and honest the Husker staff were ... much like Coach Osborne's staff.
