The Nebraska Cornhuskers (7-4, 4-4) are back home to host the Iowa Hawkeyes (7-4, 5-3) on Friday, November 28th at 11:00 AM on CBS.
Iowa is coming off a 20-17 victory over Michigan State. We know what to expect from Iowa: a stout defense and a tough running game. It seems this game comes down to who makes the least mistakes. It is very often a one-score game decided on the last play.
This is Senior Day for the Huskers. There are 19 seniors who could be walking onto Tom Osborne field for the last time:
- Michael Booker III (LB)
- Marques Buford, Jr. (DB)
- Derek Branch (DB)
- Aidan Fledge (LS)
- Kevin Gallic (LS)
- Jayln Gramstad (QB)
- Heinrich Haarberg (TE)
- Malcom Hartzog Jr. (DB)
- Dane Key (WR)
- Henry Lutovsky (OL)
- Dasan McCullough (LB)
- Teddy Prochazka (OL)
- DeShon Singleton (DB)
- Turner Corcoran (OL)
- Marques Watson-Trent (LB)
- Rocco Spindler (OL)
- Elijah Jeudy (DL)
- Ceyair Wright (DB)
- Javin Wright (LB)
There might be more players who decide to make this their last home game.
Senior Day is a melancholy game. All the years, and classes, and training, and practices, and friends-for-life made; and brothers in blood and bruises, all for the love of a game played in front of red-clad fanatics known as the best fans in college football. There will be tears. And heart. Everyone wants to send the seniors out with a win. Especially over Iowa!
The Hawkeyes opened as a 4-point favorite, and have a statistical advantage over the Huskers.
Not to sound like a broken record, but, the Blackshirts are going to have to slow down the Iowa rushing offense, and try to make them throw the ball. The Husker offense needs to run the ball well, and slow down the Iowa pass rush. Same song, different verse.
